Fillers

Fillers are used to plump up lines, lips and cheekbones without affecting facial expression and can be used to change the nose in a subtle way.

Barbara Jemec uses Hyaluronic Acid fillers such as Restylane, Perlane, Lipp and SubQ because they are safe, she is trained in using them and she feels they give a reliable result.

The products are made of stabilised Hyaluronic acid which occurs naturally in the cells, it is not based on animals and therefore no allergic reactions have been recorded.

Restylane and Perlane are used to reduce the creases running from the nose to the corner of your mouth (nasolabial) and from there down the sides of the chin (marionette lines), on the forehead and between the brows, to support droopy corners of your mouth and lift the nasal tip or enhance a low nasal bridge, Lipp is used to enhance your lips and plump up the lines around your mouth and Sub Q to enhance the cheekbones and the chin.

The effect is immediate and lasts for 6- 12 months.

Local Anaesthetic is used to make the treatment pain free.

The local reactions to the injections can include redness, swelling, itching, tenderness and a fine peeling of the overlying skin for a couple of days. Your lips will be swollen for 4-7 days after the enhancement.

Contraindications for treatment with fillers are
Active coldsores
Skin infections
