Labiaplasty can reduce and reshape the labia if they are too large and cause discomfort.
The labia can be reshaped without sacrificing sensitivity, touching the clitoris or the urethral opening. The outer edge of the labia is preserved, as are the nerves and vessels inside the labia with a new technique. The scars are hidden.

The surgery is performed under General Anaesthesia as a Day Case.
It is best performed between your periods.
After the operation you are advised to wear a sanitary towel for a couple of days as there may be some minimal bleeding. Initially you will be swollen and you should avoid vigorous exercise for at least two weeks and sex for 6 weeks. The stitches are very fine and dissolve after 2-3 weeks. Hypersensitivity is rare and usually settles spontaneously.

The potential complications from labiaplasty are:
A bleed in the labia which necessitates your return to theatres for the blood to be removed
Infection
Dehiscence (the wound opens and needs to be re-sutured)
